Introducing: Med I, Med II and Med III Art Prints

Following on from our blog post last week on our Ficus I art print, which you can read about here, this week we are spotlighting our ‘Med’ series - which currently includes Med I, Med II and Med III - so you get three times as much fun in this post!

This is a continuation of our ongoing series of blog posts on each of our original prints which we started with when we opened our independent online shop. Hopefully you will get to know us a little better by the end and understand just how we get inspired and create each print.

We illustrate all of the designs we sell as prints by hand so you know that love - and patience - has gone into each one!

This collection of prints focuses on bright whites, calming blues, neutrals and botanical greens. The colour palette primarily consists of cool tones with some warmer neutrals here and there.

We are loving how fresh these prints feel and how our favourite bold colour of the moment - ultramarine - takes centre stage in Med II.

These prints were inspired by the stunning architecture found throughout many Mediterranean towns and villages, and famously sought out in the Greek islands.

There’s something about crisp white walls set against a clear blue sky and the sense of the hot sun beating down that makes us feel almost nostalgic - and longing for a summer holiday abroad. We have been fortunate enough to travel to many beautiful locations along the Mediterranean Sea over the years, but have not yet ventured to Greece. It is on our list so if you have any recommendations please comment below!

We can’t help but be obsessed with Greek island architecture at the moment and the traditional white washed plaster building that seemingly rise up from nowhere, stacked one on top of the other.

Med III

You will see for Med III that we used Med I as a base. We love so many details from that print but wanted to offer a variation. We tried to make the plant life a real focus of the scene and introduced the dusky pink as a happy pop of colour.

We think these prints would look great together or individually. The crisp colours and lines help make a statement and would brighten up any areas at home such as the hallway/landing or a cute little nook. The blues would also work well in a bathroom or a light and minimal living room.
